The Effectiveness of Facebook Social Media With The Icare Model Based on Authentic Learning in Social Subjects in Middle Schools

Abstract


Permasalahan dalam mata pelajaran social saat ini tidak mengacu kepada situasi real atau nyata di lapangan, sehingga kurang bermakna bagi peserta didik. Sementara salah satu tujuan dalam mata pelajaran ini adalah peserta didik mampu mengaitkan topik materi dengan lingkungan yang ada di sekitarnya. Tujuan penelitian adalah menemukan efektivitas media social facebook dengan model ICARE berbasis authentic. Metode penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dalam bentuk quasy experiment. Populasi dalam penelitian adalah siswa SMP kelas VII sebanyak 232 orang dengan sampel dua kelas dengan jumlah siswa masing-masing 28 orang. Sampel diambil secara purposive. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat efektivitas media social dengan model ICARE berbasis authentic pada mata pelajaran social di sekolah menengah. Hasil analisis menunjukkan uji t diperoleh thitung 3,234 sedangkan ttabel pada α 0,05 adalah 2,000. Jika dibandingkan, maka thitung lebih besar dari ttabel yaitu 3,234 > 2,000. Berdasarkan uraian di atas disimpulkan media social facebook dengan menggunakan model ICARE berbasis authentic efektif untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar social siswa di sekolah menengah.
